Women’s Initiatives Supporting Group in collaboration with ILGA-Europe prepared and submitted a shadow report on rights of LGBT persons in Georgia for the 23rd session of Universal Periodical Review (UPR). The report was based on studies and reports prepared by WISG recently as well as cases of rights violation documented with cooperation from LGBT community and other relevant materials. Present report prepared by WISG and ILGA-Europe is the only Georgian submission to 23rd session of UPR exclusively dedicated to LGBT rights. Women’s Initiatives Supporting Group additionally took part in preparing joint submissions together with women’s rights organization Sapari and Georgian Young Lawyers Association (GYLA).
