We continue our legal fight against the Russian law
Georgian non-governmental organisations continue their legal efforts to challenge the so-called "Russian law." We firmly assert that we will not abide by the provisions of this legislation and are committed to utilising all domestic and international mechanisms to halt its enforcement until it is unconditionally repealed. To this end, we are preparing a lawsuit to be submitted to the Constitutional Court of Georgia in the near future. The Constitutional Court, vested with the authority provided by the Constitution, has the capacity to suspend the operation of the contested provisions of the law.
Nonetheless, we do not view the Constitutional Court as the sole avenue for our legal struggle. Should the Constitutional Court fail to act in a timely and constitutionally appropriate manner, we are prepared to pursue alternative legal mechanisms.
Simultaneously, we are preparing to file a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), which will be submitted at the appropriate time to address this issue at the international level.
We call on all non-governmental organisations and media outlets to join this collective effort.
We will win together.
No to Russian law! Yes to Europe!
