WISG presented 2 new policy papers on Trans issues

6 June 2022

Women’s Initiatives Supporting Group (WISG) presented new policy papers regarding trans-specific healthcare services and legal gender recognition.

The policy papers were prepared for transgender persons, LGBTQI community organizations and other civil society organizations as well as for queer and feminist activists, students, researchers interested in issues of gender and healthcare policy, and allies of trans community.

The papers will help the interested groups in advocating legal gender recognition, also in mobilizing trans community and their allies around issues such as the need for trans-specific healthcare programs and access to health care services.

The policy papers assess activities of decision-maker state bodies with regard to legal gender recognition and access to trans-specific healthcare services, and give relevant recommendations to them, including the Parliament of Georgia, the Government of Georgia, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Health and other state bodies.
