Women’s Initiatives Supporting Group (WISG) and StudioMobile: Accent of Action invite you to the film-screening and discussion about freedom of assembly and manifestation of LGBT persons.
A new documentary film “Vachnadze Street”, made by Lia Jaqeli will be screened. The film explores the events that had taken place on May 17, 2013 (when a peaceful IDAHOT demonstration was attacked by violent crowds) and highlights the impact of homophobia and transphobia on lives of LGBT persons and their supporters.
After the film screening, a discussion will be held, exploring modern context of freedom of assembly and manifestation, importance of occupying public space for LGBT persons and influence that all these factors have on protection of private space of LGBT persons.
The guests will also have a possibility to see a photo exhibition.
